Funeral Service for Scott Anderson, 42, of Baker will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Biswell officiating. Burial will be in East Helena at a later date.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service and for those not able to attend it will be livestreamed.
Scott passed away at his home on April 15, 2026.
Scott Anderson wa born August 3, 1983 to Robert "Andy" and Christine (Engel) Anderson while they were stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville, AR. He joined two sisters, Lynette and Kelly. He and his family moved to Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana where he attended Loy Elementary School. The family moved to East Helena, and Scott graduated from Helena High School in 2001.
Scott always knew he wanted to be a teacher, so after graduation he attended The University of Montana-Western to pursue a degree in Business Education. While in college, he met Michelle Smith who shared his passion for education. After Scott’s graduation, they married on June 23, 2006 at Wolf Creek, MT. Michelle followed Scott to Baker High School and they decided to settle in Baker and raise their family. In 2008, they welcomed their first daughter, Kaydree, in 2011 their daughter MaLeah was born, and in 2013, their daughter Leightyn completed their family. Scott also loved two special dogs, Brady and Archer.
For 21 years, Scott fulfilled his dream of being a teacher, and his duties expanded beyond the classroom, as he became the advisor of BPA, established and coached Baker High School E-Sports team, and took on the role of IT Administrator. He also enjoyed serving his community, as he was a dedicated member of the Baker Fire Department for 16 years and served two terms on Baker City Council.
Scott loved baseball and the Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed playing baseball, but found his true place on the baseball field as an umpire. He began his umpiring career in high school and continued umpiring throughout his life. He also loved bowling and was a two-time state champion.
Scott is survived by his wife, Michelle; daughters, Kaydree and Leightyn; parents, Robert and Christine Anderson; grandmother, Colleen Anderson; sisters, Lynette Anderson (Geoffrey Cranch) and Kelly (Bill) Zimmerman; his father and mother in-law, Don and Gloria Smith; three brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was in preceded in death by his daughter, MaLeah, and grandfather, Robert Anderson.
