Scott Gustafson

June 20, 1956 — October 4, 2022

Dickinson

A private family graveside service will be held in honor of Scott Alan Gustafson, 66, of Dickinson.

Scott passed away at his home on October 4, 2022.

Scott was born on June 20, 1956 in Rapid City, SD to Bud and Bev Gustafson. He was raised in Dickinson and attended school at Versippi Country School and Dickinson Public Schools. He worked a variety of jobs in the construction industry throughout his adult life.

Scott loved the outdoors and spent time fishing, hunting, and camping. His true passion was gardening and the man loved yardwork!

Scott (or Gus as most of his friends called him) was both an introvert and extrovert. He had many friends and could talk to anyone. He had become quite isolated the last few years of his life, but would always get a twinkle in his eye when speaking of the shenanigans he and his cronies would pull off. You all know who you are!  We will miss his wit, his charm, and gift of gab.

Scott is survived by his daughter, Katey (Joey) Bailey; sisters, JoAnn (Greg) Miessel, and Deb (Jeff) Bartholomew; brother, Mark (Lori) Gustafson; nieces and nephews, Austin Bartholomew and Shaina, Hunter and Halen Vak, and Morgan Starr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Bev Gustafson; and infant son, Dalton.

As you take your final journey,

We just wanted you to know,

We loved you no matter what,

And know it was time for you to go.

As you near the pearly gates,

It gives us peace and joy,

That waiting for you are Mom and Dad,

And your previous baby boy.

So as we say goodbye to you,

We know it’s not the end,

For some day we will all

Be back together again
