Susan Carol Privratsky was born July 14, 1946 in Dickinson to Wenzel and Agnes (Herauf) Privratsky. She grew up in Dickinson and attended St. Patrick’s grade school before graduation from Dickinson High School in 1964. Susan worked for a few years with her dad at Cloverdale Creamery in Dickinson. After a couple years of college Susan met Anton “Tony” Kubik. The couple was married on September 30, 1967 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple made their home on the Kubik family ranch northeast of Dickinson. Susan and Tony were blessed with a son Scott Francis Kubik. She also welcomed into her heart, Tony’s four daughters and loved and raised them as her own.

Susan loved raising her family on the farm. She always raised a large garden with her mother to provide home canned specialties for all of her family. She would can anything under the sun. Susan was also a talented baker, making specialized sugar cookies for every season or sports team around, all of the frosting and colors were made from scratch. Some of the dishes that Susan was famous for was her, thin pancakes, hot dish, and farmer’s hats. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching her show “Dark Shadows.” She loved animals and had a soft spot for stray animals, especially cats. She dearly loved her devoted companion, our dog Ranger “Phoenix Husky”. Susan enjoyed playing card games, and was always willing to make a trip to the Casino and try her luck at the slot machines.

She will be remembered as a strong, kind, empathetic, and protective sister who faced challenges head on. Her family will remember her great cooking, hardworking spirit, green thumb, and supportive nature.
In spite of the unfair hand that Susan was dealt with her MS, she never let the challenges break her spirit. She persevered through all of her struggles with grace, dignity and selflessness. Susan loved being a care taker for her family, especially her grandchildren and family members.
