Tanya Lee Halmans, 51, of Baker sadly passed away on January 14, 2023 at her home after a long courageous battle with cancer with family by her side.

Tanya was born in Hettinger, ND to Jack and Kathy Wyman and raised in Bowman, ND. She attended Bowman Public Schools and was a proud member of the Bowman High School Color Guard for the band.  They were chosen by ND governor to represent North Dakota and marched in Philadelphia.  During high school Tanya worked at Tastee Freeze, Service Master and as a babysitter. After high school Tanya married John D. Halmans and they were married on June 23, 1990. John and Tanya lived and worked in the Elgin, ND area. John worked in farming and Tanya in housekeeping at the Elgin Hospital. John and Tanya relocated to Baker, MT where she continued her work and was the supervisor of housekeeping at Fallon Medical Complex. She left her work to care for her father, Jack, and volunteered at the Cedar Chest in Bowman.

Tanya had a loving heart and enjoyed anytime she could spend with family and friends. She enjoyed working on crafts, gathering family history, organizing family reunions, photos and doing many projects for relatives, god children and friends. Tanya enjoyed and was very proud of her china cup and saucer sets. The thrill of the search for something unique and special gave her so much pleasure.

Tanya will be missed by so many that loved her dearly, husband of 32 years, John D. of Baker; mother, Kathy Wyman of Bowman; brother, Brandon Wyman of Rochester, MN; father-in-law John J. Halmans of Baker; mother in-law, Alice Arneson of Hysham; sister-in-law JoAnna (Tennyson) Williams of Hysham; brothers-in-law, Joe (Donna) Halmans of Baker, Jerome (Heidi) Halmans of Weirsdale, FL, Jeff Halmans of Baker; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack; grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
