Terry was born on December 27, 1957, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Ted and Luella (Baumgartner) Wagner. He was raised on the family farm in Haymarsh and graduated from Glen Ullin High School in 1976. After graduation, he attended Dickinson State for two years.
On July 20, 1991, Terry married the love of his life, Linda Pearson, in Glen Ullin. They celebrated with a double wedding with Terry's brother, Larry and Linda's best friend, Stacy. The couple was blessed with their two children, Melissa and Ryan.
After his time at Dickinson State, Terry began his career with BNSF Railway and then Hebron Brickyard, where he met some of his best friends. He played for many softball teams, including Joe's Bar, which won first place in the McQuade softball tournament. Terry then joined Opp Well Drilling, where he worked for over 40 years. During car rides, he loved to point out various locations where he had drilled wells and share how deep each well was. He was known for his dependability and strong work ethic.
Terry enjoyed being outdoors, spending time fishing and camping. In his spare time, he could often be found reading a good book, working on crossword puzzles, or cruising around in his classic '61. He wasn't one to travel, but they took many family vacations, including a trip to Jamaica and many trips to Deadwood.
Terry was well-known among friends and family for his witty sense of humor, big smile, contagious laugh, and generous spirit.
Family meant everything to Terry. Their gatherings were always filled with laughter as they reminisced about old memories while creating new ones. He was immensely proud of Melissa and Ryan's accomplishments and cherished every moment spent together. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
