Funeral Mass for Theodore J. Sanders, 100 of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Dennis Schafer Celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick?s Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be Sunday, November 29, 2004 from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. continuing on Monday from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary and Vigil at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Theodore passed away Thursday, November 25, 2004 at St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson. He was born December 24, 1903 at Ghent, MN, the son of Theodore F. and Bernadina (Van Uden) Sanders. His parents moved to Zenith, ND in 1910. Theodore attended Zenith School and graduated from the 8th grade. In his earlier years, Theodore worked in the Zenith and Binek Coal Mines, using mules and dynamite to bring it out. He worked for the Occident Grain Company and also the elevators in Belfield and Fryburg. Theodore also served as clerk of the Zenith School System for many years and as school bus driver. Theodore was married to Catherine Dasovick on July 30, 1932 at St. Bernard?s Catholic Church in Belfield, ND. After their marriage, he farmed and raised cattle during the summer season and continued to work in the grain elevators during the winter. After 34 years of farming, they retired and moved to Dickinson, ND in 1974. They joined St. Joseph?s Parish. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6310 of Belfield. He enjoyed reading, fishing, gardening and especially his cattle. Survivors include his wife, Catherine of Dickinson; two sons: Theodore Joseph (Sharon) Sanders of Stayton, OR and Donald (Darlene) Sanders of Dickinson, ND; three daughters: Margaret (David) Van Leeuwen of Moreno Valley, CA; Dorothy (Gordon) Fox of Reno, NV; and Donna (Sam) Pasicznyk of Dickinson, ND; a sister, Julie Ann Degan of California; a brother, Lawrence (Emma) Sanders, Dickinson; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: John and Joseph Sanders and a sister, Genevieve Hegel.
