Theresa Armbrust

Funeral Mass for Theresa Armbrust, 91, of Dickinson, ND, will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson, ND. Visitation for Theresa will be from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with Rosary and Prayer Service taking place at 7:00 p.m.


Theresa passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Knife River Care Center, Beulah, ND.


Theresa Amelia Reiter Armbrust was born September 22, 1919 in Richardton, ND to Philip and Katherine (Stefan) Reiter. On June 17, 1941 she married Florian Armbrust, son of Anton and Veronica (Mischel) Armbrust in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson, ND. They lived in Blissfield, MI from 1942 to 1945 when they moved back to Dickinson. In 1964, they moved to Grand Forks, ND where she worked at Valley Memorial Nursing Center. In 1974, they moved back to Dickinson where she worked at the Dickinson Nursing Center.


She is survived by three children: Marie (Jerry) Gahner, Beulah, ND, Donald (Joanne) Armbrust, Lino Lakes, MN and Judith (August) Hondl, Rapid City, SD; two grandsons: Kurt (Larenda) Hondl, Oklahoma City, OK and Kevin (Kris) Hondl, Andover, MN; great-granddaughters: Veronica and Alexandra Hondl, Andover, MN; step-great-grandson, Colton Craft, Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Louise Rebel, Dickinson, ND; sister-in-law, Margaret Berger, Dickinson, ND as well as numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by: her husband, Florian; sisters: Rose Reiter, Frances Reiter, Florence (Nicholas) Kaip, Mary (Joe) Dukart and brothers Loy (Alma) Reiter and John and Valentine, who died as infants.
