Victor passed away March 7, 2021, at his home in Dickinson.

Victor loved life, his family, and the Lord. He was born February 13, 1940 to Lydia (Stern) and Albert Gegelman. He graduated from the Halliday high school in 1959 and thereafter studied Mechanics at the North Dakota State College of Science. Victor met Amy (Leintz) in high school where he asked her to the Prom. In 1962 they were married in Halliday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. They made their home in Halliday where Victor worked as an implement dealer mechanic. They moved to Bismarck, ND where Victor took a job with Readinger Motors. In 1969 they moved to Dickinson where Victor worked at Queen City Motors, eventually working for Chevron. He retired in the oilfield as a mechanic for Gulf & PetroHunt.

Throughout his life he spent his time farming, spending time with family, camping, hunting, gardening and doing carpentry. Victor could building anything and fix anything. He built and enjoyed their family homes in Dickinson and Halliday. He was a Jack & master of all trades. He even built a skating rink in the backyard for his children and later his grandchildren. Vic always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed late night peanut butter sandwiches and bowls of ice cream with his grandchildren. He loved playing cards, especially Pinochle and late night Bible studies with the family.

Victor loved the Lord, reading God’s word, and sharing God’s word with others. If you knew Vic, you knew he loved the Lord, and enjoyed preaching at church or in person.

He had an adventurous spirit. He was always ready for adventure and fun with his family and grandchildren, and enjoyed many family vacations in the Black Hills and in Florida. Vic was a very honorable man. He always took the high road. He was a servant leader – always helping others. Vic was a very compassionate, kind man.

Victor is survived by his wife, Amy; children, Michael (Crystal) Gegelman of Concord, NC, Jerome (Kendra) Gegelman of Midland, TX, and Renee (Bo) Roberts of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Rachael Roberts, Christopher (Jasmine) Roberts, Shawn Roberts, Jonathan (Charis) Gegelman, Nichole (Cameron Berg-Fiance), Christian (Katie) Gegelman, Jordan (Samuel Higgins-Fiance); great-grandchildren, Jadalynn, Carson, and Chole; and brother, Roger Gegelman of Dickinson, ND.

Victor is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Lydia.
